Book Review - Madame C.J. Walker's Road To Success

As you have read from the title, this book was about Madame C.J Walker and her journey. What I like about this story is that the author gave an in depth description of Walker's journey on the level that children could understand and relate to. The book also provided eye catching illustration that will no doubt draw the children in - even I found myself staring at the pictures while reading. There was a lot of information in this book that even I didn't know of. Such as, getting married at a young age and how she got her start to making hair creams. {You're never too old or too young for knowledge.} I admire the author for taking such pride in her work and creating this story by getting the help from actual members of Walker's family - her great, great, grand daughter. This book will be an inspiration to your young kid entrepreneur.

My daughter, who is 7 enjoyed this reading during our bedtime storytime. I would recommend this book for ages 6 and up.

I look forward to reading other stories that author, Akua Agusi has created. Find Queen Nzingha, The Success of Marcus Garvey and Imhotep's Learning Concepts in the Youth books or Education section.
