WHAT OR WHO INSPIRED YOU TO WRITE A DAY IN THE LIFE OF MOTHER GOOSE?
BEA: The rapping rhythm was written in 1991 for a stage production performed by students with special needs in the elementary school where I worked. After many years, I decided to turn the song into a book.
WHAT CHALLENGES DID YOU FACE WHILE CREATING, A DAY IN THE LIFE OF MOTHER GOOSE?
BEA: Narrowing down which rhymes to include was a little bit of a challenge.
WHAT DO YOU HOPE READERS TAKE AWAY FROM THIS STORY?
BEA: I hope readers will have a fun experience listening to the modern twist of these classic rhymes. I hope they will take an extra close look at the illustrations to find the words "Love" and "patience."
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU'RE NOT WRITING?
BEA: When I'm not writing you can find me reading, researching or playing golf.
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE AUTHOR AND WHY?
BEA: I can't say I have just one favorite author. I read a wide variety of authors and genres; however, I enjoy Jacqueline Woodson, Zora Neale Hurston, Jodi Picoult, Kwame Alexander and Elizabeth Musser.
ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON ANYTHING THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH OUR READERS? IF NOT, DO YOU PLAN TO WRITE AND PUBLISH MORE BOOKS?
BEA: I'm working on a book about memories from my childhood, of growing up in a shotgun house filled with love.
LASTLY, WHERE CAN READERS PURCHASE YOUR BOOK?
Thank you Beatrice Brown for sharing with Mocha Books and readers.
